Abstract

The fact that m-commerce has become a common thing among the consumers can be attributed to the high rate of mobile phone devices ownership. Along with the blossom of m-commerce, the guarantee that user data when performing mobile payment is secure has become more significant. This paper analyzes mobile payment insecurity and M-commerce, and prospects effective measures for overcoming the issues. The fundamental challenges regarding authentication techniques, data encryption, secure transmission protocols and user privacy are explored in the text through the lens of various techniques and tools. Furthermore, the security level of emerging technologies and best practices for secure mobile payments is also described. These issues can be solved through security measures that are robust which in turn enables trust and credibility. With this, the already high demand for mobile payments will continue to rise. In mobile commerce or M-commerce for short, consumers buy and sell goods and services through devices like smartphones, tablets, and other small devices. It covers dealings of sellers, buyers as well as service providers, along with monetary transactions and transfer of money, all on mobile tools and networks.
